Minimum Requirements : BSCE or BSEE or related field with minimum 2 year experience in ITS. PE or ability to obtain within two years desirable. Experienced with PennDOT ITS standards, National ITS Architecture, ITS Concept of Operations, Systems Engineering Process, and state-of-the-art practice with respect to ITS planning, operations, and design, and Microsoft Office. Experience with SONET/Ethernet communications, design of electrical distribution networks, Traffic Engineering Software/Analysis a plus. Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Candidate must be ambitious and self-motivated and possess a sound technical background in ITS.
Job Description : The URS Fort Washington office is seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Engineer to become an integral part of a growing Traffic Engineering (TE) Group. Candidate will be responsible for supporting existing projects in the region, in particular, along the I-95 corridor. Work includes ITS design and planning, developing an ITS Concept of Operations, Systems Architecture and Engineering Reports, and Preliminary and Final Design for large corridor ITS projects. Candidate should have an understanding of traffic signal systems and be able to represent a client at agency and public coordination meetings.
