2022 ITSPA BEST OF AWARD NOMINATIONS

The ITSPA Board of Directors will present two (2) “Best of ITSPA” awards in August of 2022. The first award will recognize an individual (ITSPA Person of the Year) that demonstrates devotion, excellence and leadership in advancing ITS in Pennsylvania.   The second award will recognize a project that demonstrates innovation, coordination, and measurable results.

Throughout the year there are many individuals across Pennsylvania, within State and local agencies, highway and transit operators, consultants and equipment suppliers who are promoting ITS.  In addition, there are many projects in Pennsylvania in which ITS has proven a great benefit to the general population as well as providing safety and efficiency of operations within an organization.  ITSPA wants to recognize these people and projects.

The requirements for nomination are (see links in green for applications):

2022 ITSPA Person of the Year Application

The purpose of this award is to honor the individual who has made a significant contribution to the ITS and operations community throughout 2021 and 2022.  Contributions may include but are not limited to advocacy, project, institutional, educational, operations or safety related.

Nominations for ITSPA Person of the Year are now closed.

PENNDOT WINS 2021 TSMO AWARD

All of us at ITSPA send congratulations to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, which was recently named the Overall Winner of the 2021 TSMO Awards from the National Operations Center of Excellence!  PennDOT seized top honors with their TSMO Performance Program and Traffic Operations Analytics Tool.  Check it out in the video below!

PENNDOT WINS ITSPA 2020 PROJECT OF THE YEAR!

ITSPA congratulates the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for winning the 2021 "Project of the Year" award for its Remote Traffic Management Centers project.  At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, PennDOT undertook a massive logistical effort to transition all TMC operations to remote home-based operations.  They completed this task with minimal interruptions to service and kept Pennsylvania moving!  ITSPA's Dan Corey (pictured above, right) presented the award to PennDOT's Manager of Traffic Systems and Performance Ryan McNary at the 2021 ITSPA/MASITE Golf Outing on May 11th.  Congratulations Ryan and the entire PennDOT Operations team!
